Thailand
This Christmas my family journeyed to Thailand for a whole week, we stayed at a resort at Phuket whıch consisted of three pools, a breakfast buffet, a spa, a gym and a kids club. There was also a busy but beautiful beach nearby. We enjoyed our stay very much and even though our full journey was 11 hours by plane we all think it was worth it and hope we can come again.
On the first day we explored the beach and swum around for a while then had dinner at one of the resort's restaraunts, I ate chicken with jellylike noodles I had never tried before and my sister had Pad Thai. We had little time to do things on our very first day due to the fact that we arrived at the resort at 3:30. Our first night was pretty sleepless and the whole family was up at 4am.
For the rest of the days up to Thursday we hung out at the beach or the pool and occasionally played mini games such as, ping pong, Jenga and badminton at the entertainment centre.
However, Thursday was a very busy day, We had a tour of the old town of Phuket which started early and ended at 2:00 we saw some of the religious buildings and statues and we came across naughty monkeys while heading towards the city viewpoint. We were also given an hour to look around the old fashioned shops of the town.
Then we had a small break until 5 when we did paddleboarding which I enjoyed greatly but took great hardship in learning and almost bashed against the side of several wooden boats.
After that we got changed and played tennis on the tennis courts at the resort for 45 minutes or so and then we got changed and headed towards the fanciest restaraunts in the resort where we were paddled brought to through a majestic swamp.
We had delicious drinks and my particular favourite was the tapioca-like dumplings for desert dunked in coconut milk.
On Friday me and my mum went snorkelling at two different islands, we had great fun and I enjoyed looking at the marine biodiversity- I have always been interested in marine biology. Unfortunately, the minute we entered the water my mum started retching and she felt sick so she went back to the boat. after me and the other adults were done with the snorkelling we entered the boat again. As we were waiting for the divers to come back the boat swayed uncontrollably which made me and my mum feel even more seasick. On the way to the second island my mom threw up in a bag and I tried my best not to panic, she felt really ill and I felt really bad so we went to lie on the beach of the second island were I almost puked too. After a while of lying down I felt better and went back to snorkelling with the instructor, I saw a long, metallic blue fish with a spiky nose, a deflated pufferfish and the coolest of all: AN OCTOPUS!!!!
Thankfully my mum took some videos of us snorkelling on our Go-Pro.
On the way back to the resort we felt better but we still had to lay down in our room for roughly an hour.
I was thrilled to have such a great vacation and hope I will have similar ones in the future.
PS: I know this is really random but I love jackfruit. hehe
